One of the kids had the idea to build a shelter.
We started with sticks and branches, and then the kids decided to use tape.
We found a roll of orange construction tape and the kids ran to get orange cones and construction hats. The kids began to weave elaborate, imaginative stories. They were SERIOUS construction workers whose work kept getting interrupted by rainstorms. The shelter kept us all dry. When the rain stopped, the "boss" would order, "BACK TO WORK!"
Then, they began to recreate the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There were two tiny, baby bears, a mama bear, a big bear, and Goldilocks. They each had their own room within the shelter. One room was in the trees!
That's Goldilocks with the red lightning bolt shirt. One of the bears is sleeping in her room. After deciding the ground was too hard for sleeping, she found a leaf to "soften things up," she said.
