We were in top form today at Creatures Habitat.  The weather was beautiful.  The friends found harmony together and enjoyed each other's company while

 battling...
This photo shows the beauty of a mixed age group.  You can really see them learning techniques here- how to swing, how not to hurt the other person.  The five-year old is putting techniques to good use, practicing self-control.  The 4-year old in the background is taking notes.  The almost three-year old is working on the gross motor skills.  Fun!

 Botany in the garden...
Children used a diagram of a tomato plant to identify tomato plants growing in the garden- inspecting shape of leaf, color and shape of flowers.  We named the parts of the plant.  We considered the life cycle of a tomato plant.  Children cut cross-sections of tomatoes and observed seed, skin, and wall.

This strawberry searcher gave all of the ruby red strawberries to her friends and left herself with none!  She was disappointed but seemed to appreciate that her action showed she was very thoughtful and liked to make people feel good.
 Friends were very, very thankful.
 Yum!
